MTN and APOEL announced officially the renewal of the former’s sponsorship to the team until 2015 against €1.6 million.
At a press conference held today, the two said that MTN remains the official sponsorship of APOEL for the Cypriot championship until 2015, which the cost of sponsorship stands at €1,600,000.
The press conference was attended by MTN Chairman, Nicos Shacolas, CEO Pieter Verkade and Finance Director, Haris Georgakis.
On behalf of APOEL, it was attended by Chairman, Fivos Erotokritou, Coach Ivan Jovanovic and Marketing Manager, Fivos Papadopoulos.
In his presentation, MTN Chairman, Nicos Shacolas said: “I am very pleased that today’s signing of the agreement signals the continuance of cooperation and support of MTN Cyprus to APOEL for three more years”.
“The renewal of the agreement with APOEL is one more milestone in our journey to the top”, Mr. Verkade said.
“MTN, as sponsor of APOEL, was next to us in the past few years, in good and bad moments. It supports us and we return this help to the extent we can”, APOEL Chairman, Fivos Erotokritou said.
In the sidelines of the agreement, MTN plans to create a new telecommunications product for fans of APOEL, who will have access to new, statistic and other contents of their favourite team.
Also, it reserves the right of first option in the sponsorship of European matches.
