Deputy Minister of Migration and International Protection Nikolas Ioannides is travelling to Athens for a visit between September 19 and 20. He will hold contacts with the Minister of Migration and Asylum Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos and Deputy Minister Sofia Voultepsi.
A press release says that the Deputy Minister will discuss issues related to the implementation of the provisions of the European Union Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the recent political developments in the management of migration influxes in EU member states.
Ioannides will also have a meeting with the head of the Athens Office of the International Organization for Migration Sanja Celebic Lukovac, the head of the Greek Section in the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission Aristides Psarras and the Head of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Demetrios Mallios.
