Government Spokesman, Stephanos Stephanou stated on Monday that the President of the Republic, Demetris Christofias appointed Michalis Papageorgiou as new Chief of the Police in replacement of Iacovos Papacosta.
According to Mr. Stephanou, exercising the powers offered by the Constitution, the President appointed Andreas Nicolaides as Deputy Chief in replacement of Michalis Papageorgiou.
The relevant ceremony will take place tomorrow at 1.00 pm at the Presidential Palace.
