The last House session before the summer recess will take place tomorrow, for which a total of 96 bills and legislative proposals have been submitted. The winter sessions will commence in early October.
Amongst bills for consideration by the House tomorrow will be the approval for supplement to the budget of over CYP 26 million, including payments for drought-affected farmers, chartering of helicopters and purchase of vehicles for the fire-fighting services, mothers' benefits backdated to April 2001 and others.
Amendment to current legislation will also be considered including Insurance companies law with the aim of achieving its alignment with EU directives.
The report of the House Environment committee will be considered concerning the effects on the environmental and health by the proposed construction of antennas on the Limassol salt lake by the British armed forces.
