Labour and Social Security Minister, Makis Keravnos said on Thursday that PASYXE’s decision to reject the proposal of the Labour Ministry on the renewal of the union contracts is irresponsible. Mr. Keravnos appealed to the Association to rethink the issue and accept the conciliatory proposal.
Responding on the question whether his stance as a Labour Minister will secure the labour peace in the hotel industry, Mr. Keravnos said that PASYXE’S stance makes the problem even more intense.
Commenting on whether there will be a last-minute intervention on behalf of the Labour Ministry, Mr. Keravnos stressed that the government has attempted to lift the strike measures, provided that PASYXE would accept the conciliatory proposal. “If PASYXE has second thoughts on the issue, then I am on its disposal”, he concluded.
