At the same time, he reminded that along with other friends and colleagues are working to establish an oncology centre in Asgata, Limassol.
Mr. Kazamias avoided answering whether his political career has ended.
As for his contacts with the political parties, he said that his aim was to inform the parties on the latest developments on the economy.
Especially for his meeting with his friend – as he said – Andros Kyprianou, “AKEL was and still is the main pillar of the government in implementing the policy”.
“I hope that good cooperation will continue with the new Minister of Finance as well, since 2012 will be an equally challenging year. I'm sure that away from political, electoral and partisan expediencies, all political forces will help to get out of the difficult stalemates of the economy”.
On the other hand, responding to the question on the expiry of the terms of office of CB Governor, AKEL General Secretary said: “The appointment of the CB Governor falls under the President’s competencies. I am sure that on the right time he will exercise his right taking into account the interests of the Cyprus economy and how are those served”.
He recommended patience and stressed that the President will seek AKEL’s view, as he always does.
As for the economic issues, he agreed with Mr. Kazamias that they have to stay out of any petty and personal expediency.
“We have not overcome the problems and more effort will be needed”, he said and thanked Mr. Kazamias for his valuable contribution.
