Italian President’s two-day visit to Cyprus concludes on Tuesday

The two-day official visit of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Matarella to Cyprus concludes on Tuesday.

According to the visit's programme, the Italian President will meet in the morning with the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, at the Parliament.

Subsequently, Matarella will have a meeting with members of the Italian UNFICYP force at the mission’s headquarters in Nicosia, accompanied by his daughter Laura Matarella, to be followed by a visit to the laboratory of the Commission on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) and talks with members of the scientific team.

Earlier, Matarella's daughter will go to the Cyprus Archaeological Museum, where she will be received by First Lady Philippa Karsera, and will participate in a tour of the museum's premises and exhibits by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Vasiliki Kassianidou.

At noon, the Italian President and his entourage will proceed to Limassol where, after the scheduled lunch, they will visit the Italian frigate Carlo Bergamini at the city's port.

The last leg of the Italian President's itinerary includes the transfer to Paphos, where they will be guided to the archaeological site of the House of Dionysus, in the presence of the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides, the First Lady and the Deputy Minister of Culture, from where they will then proceed to the city's airport for their final departure.
