According to the latest statistics from CYSTAT, the Consumer Price Index for August rose slightly to 107.13 points compared to 106.54 points in July 2001, keeping inflation below 2.0%. The CPI level is considered as satisfactory as it is in line with the level throughout the current year.

The main reason for the slight increase of the CPI for August was the food and non-alcoholic beverages sectors which noted a slight rise compared to the previous month.
