The increase in the sufferers’ benefits by 10% will have a retrospective effect. After the end of the session, Chairman of House Refugees Committee, Aristophanes Georgiou, said that the increases will be granted from July 1.
“The bill has been approved but it is still between the Council of Ministers and the Attorney General. However, it must be submitted to Parliament before July 10 so that it is approved in mid summer and the beneficiaries receive the rises retrospectively”, he stated.
