The period between January-August 2024 recorded the highest ever passenger traffic at the Larnaka and Pafos airports, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has said.
The Ministry noted in a press release that airport traffic during that period reached 8,179,421 passengers, showing an increase of 4.67% compared to 2023.
The steady upward trend in passenger traffic is also reflected in the August 2024 passenger traffic in the Larnaka and Pafos airports, which reached 1,602,810 passengers, marking an increase of 5.71% compared to 2023.
The passenger volume at Larnaka airport showed an increase of 8.53%, compared to last year's corresponding period, while at Pafos airport it decreased by 1.10%.
Aircraft traffic, with main markets from the United Kingdom, Greece, Poland, Israel and Germany, increased by 14% compared to 2023 and reached 11,431 flights, the Ministry concludes.
