Cyprus' Department of Meteorology issued on Wednesday another yellow warning for extreme high temperatures. The warning is valid from 12:00 noon Wednesday until 5:00 pm.
Maximum temperature over the inland areas is expected to rise to around 40 degrees Celsius and around 32 degrees Celsius over the higher mountainous areas, the warning says.
Meanwhile, the Department of Forests, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment issued a warning for "extremely high" fire risk in all forest areas.
"The public is urged to be extremely careful and to completely avoid actions and activities that are likely to cause a fire," said the Department in its warning.
