Greek unemployment drops below 900,000, lowest since 2011

Greece’s jobless rate, once the European Union’s highest during a dark 2010-18 economic and austerity crisis, fell in April when data showed there were fewer than 900,000 unemployed.

That was the lowest since 2011, said the Public Employment Service (DYPA) with surging tourism boosting the economy and providing so many jobs that workers were being recruited from other countries.
