Greek stocks ended Monday's session sharply lower in the Athens Stock Exchanger as lack of fresh buying left share prices vulnerable to selling pressures.

The general index ended 1.69 percent lower at 2,047.66 points, slightly off its session lows, with turnover a low 95.1 million euros.

The Textile (5.0 percent), Publication (4.71 percent), Insurance (4.46 percent) and Holding (4.25 percent) sectors suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day, with all other sector indices ending more than 1.0 percent lower in the day.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavy traded stocks fell 1.68 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index dropped 2.71 percent and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index plunged 3.76 percent.

Broadly, decliners led advancers by 317 to 21 with another 20 issues unchanged.
