The minimum wage in Greece, raised to 830 euros ($900.94) on April 1, will be lifted to 950 euros ($1031) by 2027, the government pledging to raise wages closer to the European Union average of 28,217 euros (2351 euros) or $2552.
That’s almost double the 1475 euros ($1061) in Greece, although the average for public sector workers is only 1083 euros ($1176) and was held down – along with pensions – during a 2010-18 economic and austerity crisis.
