Greece’s plan to limit tourists on Santorini and Mykonos by charging cruise ship passengers a 20-euro ($22.30) disembarking fee – which the industry considers a tax – could cut deep into the biggest tourist markets.
Tabloids in the United Kingdom, which is the second biggest source of arrivals behind Germany, said the fee could drive Britons to Spain and Italy as Greece has been trying to lure more people every year.
