Almost half of students at Greek universities who haven’t attended classes for years – or decades – will finally be expelled, the government said, in the face of another backlash, reportedly including Members of Parliament.

That target is some 333,741 students, or 48 percent of those enrolled at universities into which they can be admitted despite failing grades, leading to them being ignominiously being called “perpetual” or “eternal students” saying forever.
