The benefits to the families with many children will increase considerably from January 1, 2008. According to the Finance Ministry’s Benefits Service, the financial aid to the families with many children that receive an additional child benefit by the state will be increased from £2000 to £3000.

Besides, the law on the allocation of a child benefit to five-member families has been modified; for the five-member families that received a child benefit for three children for any period of time and the number of children of which the benefit is granted has dropped, the benefit will be granted on a monthly basis from 1/11/2007.

The benefit will be equal to the sum that corresponds to each child, just like receiving a benefit for three children.

The Finance Ministry clarified that the amendment above does not affect the benefits that are currently allocated to five-member families that continue to have three children.
