The House Finance Committee has approved a new bill on Monday, which provides for the appointment of a “Commissioner on T/C issues”, the office of which is to be based at the Presidential Mansion.
Chairman of the Finance Committee, Aristos Chysostomou said that the Commissioner will look into T/C-related issues and will be appointed directly by the Cyprus President with a temporary contract.
The remuneration will reach CYP 25 thousand p.a plus CYP 5 thousand for operating costs and the Commissioner’s staff will be civil servants, detached from other departments.
