According to CYSTAT data released on Thursday, the sale of fuel from gas stations in August dropped 4.1% to 53.2 thousand tones against 55.4 thousand tones in the corresponding month of 2005. Similarly, the total sale of oil products dropped 8.1% to 128 thousand tones against 139.3 thousand tones in August 2005.
In January-August 2006, the sale of fuel from gas stations inched up 0.2% to 461.6 thousand tones against 460.6 thousand tones last year.
The total sale of oil products in the same period fell by 1.3%.
