The number of Cypriots who expressed interest in repatriation to Cyprus from Lebanon has eventually reached 45, according to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Gotsis.
Speaking to CNA, Gotsis said that their transfer will be made by the C-130, the Greek Air Force transport aircraft provided by Greece to Cyprus, at the request of Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas.
Regarding when the transport of Cyriot citizens will take place, Gotsis said more developments are expected within the day.
Government sources had said on Wednesday that 105 people had initially expressed interest in returning to Cyprus. However, the number of people seeking repatriation eventually came down to 45.
Asked if there was any request for the Estia plan, Gotsis said there was nothing further to note, in relation to what the Foreign Minister said on Wednesday after the National Security Council meeting.
Meanwhile, according to sources from airport operator Hermes Airports, flights from and to Israel are carried out as planned from Larnaka and Pafos airports.
