A travel advisory for Cypriot citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to Lebanon was issued on Monday by the Foreign Ministry.
According to the Ministry, Cypriot citizens in Lebanon are advised to avoid all gatherings and demonstrations, remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities, as well as closely monitor developments and information from international and local media, avoid unnecessary travel and apply maximum security measures.
Cypriot citizens are also invited to register, if they wish, on the online Cypriot abroad registration platform Connect2CY.
As stated, the advisory is effective from 16 October 2023, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus is closely monitoring the situation in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories and the security incidents taking place in southern Lebanon, which may deteriorate without warning.
