Riders of buses in Athens can rejoice a little with the arrival of the first of 30 new buses to hit the streets and the eventual replacement of the fleet that was lauded by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis after visiting a major bus depot.
Another 181 are coming to serve 63 lines in the city and its neighborhoods, a mode of transportation essential for many, especially those of little means, which means they are frequently overcrowded.
