DISY Vice President, Averof Neophytou filled up his car at the gas station in the presence of the journalists so as to show the size of the fuel expensiveness.
Mr. Neophytou urged the Ministers to do the same so as to realize how expensive the fuel is.
“I urge the Ministers to leave their office and not to send their driver to fill up the car so as to see the cost that the Cypriot citizens pay”, he said.
“I filled up my jeep with €75, €30 of which is going to taxes. Every time that the Cypriot citizen fills up the car, for every euro that he/she pays, €40 go to state taxes”, he stressed.
He also reminded that in 2000, everybody filled up their cars with less than ten pounds.
Mr. Neophytou supported that there are two economies in Cyprus. “The economy of the governors who see everything positively and that there is no expensiveness and unemployment is under control and the economy of the citizen, who runs out of money every time he goes shopping, he pays the electricity bill, the installments and interests of the bank and every time he fills up his car at the gas station”, he concluded.
