The contract for the improvement of Arch. Makariou Avenue in Paliometoho was signed at the Public Works Department today by Manager of Public Works Department, Alecos Michaelides and Andreas Argyrou on behalf of Loizos Iordanou Constructions Ltd.
The project is expected to cost €1.8 million, while the construction activities will commence in April 2010 and will be finalized in 40 weeks.
According to the official announcement, “the project includes the expansion of the existing road surface to 12 meters that will allow the construction of a 2-lane road surface of 7 meters and tiled pavements of 2.5 meters at both sides of the road. The width of the road at Ayioi Trimithias – Kokkinotrimithia junction increases to 15 meters for the construction of right-handed movement lane. The length is of 1.3 km and the new construction of 282m will include the expansion of wastes, the construction of a surface layer and emergency services”.
