EAC announced today that power outages will be extended until midnight.
According to its announcement, the latest developments with the Vassiliko power plant do not allow the unhindered power supply.
“Therefore, the rotating outages are inevitable. As soon as conditions improve and the production is sufficient, we will prepare a more specific schedule. At the current stage, this is impossible. EAC is forced to extend the period of power outage until midnight”, the announcement said.
EAC appealed to the public once again for a maximum energy saving.
“The best EAC can do under the circumstances is the strict adherence to the 2-hour cuts. Since there is not enough energy production, there will be a second 2-hour cut during the same day”, it added.
According to indications, there will be no third cut during the same day, unless an unexpected damage occurs to the available Production Units.
Therefore, the public is urged not to use air conditions and to restrict consumption in general.
They are also urged to read the brochure on the measures for energy saving issued by the Authority.
Last night, EAC announced that the outage periods would expand by half an hour.
