- BOC & CPB remain unchanged

The CSE general index recorded the eighth consecutive rise today with gains of 0.3% closing at 84.8 points, while FTSE 20 went slightly higher to 0.3% reaching 321.8 points.

Despite the fact that during session the Bank of Cyprus and the Popular Bank reported losses of 1.7% and 0.9% respectively, they both remained unchanged at CYP 1.17 and CYP 1.06.

The trading volume reached CYP 445 thousand, while the Bank of Cyprus was the most marketable stock of the day (15.9% of the total volume or CYP 70.8 thousand). Suphire attracted 14.2% of investors’ interest, closing at 19.8 cents and –10%. The other volume leaders of the day were the Bank of Cyprus warrants with 8% of the total volume, the Hellenic Bank with 6.7% of the turnover and Hadjiioannou Farm with 6% of the turnover. BOCw surged 1.6% to 19.5 cents, HB scrambled up 2.9% or 2 cents to 71 cents, while FRH lose 1% to 10.3 cents. The Popular Bank with 4.9% of the total volume was not among the daily volume leaders.

The share of Finikas Ammochostou Investments attracted considerable investors’ interest of 4.9% remaining unchanged at 40 cents due to the exchange of a pre-agreed package.

Marketrends tumbled 17.9% to 2.3 cents, reaching its lowest point since its first day of trading on May 10, 2001 and concentrating 1,8% of the total volume. On the other hand, Megabet – from the ‘Others’ sector – soared 15.8% to 6.6 cents (1.6% of the turnover), while Global Consolidator failed to attract any investors interest today.

Overall, 44 securities went up, 27 fell and 28 remained unchanged.
