Report Presentation

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce are organizing a presentation on the results of the Report entitled “Economic Interdependence in Cyprus” to be held on Tuesday 28th June 2011.

The objective of the Report was to examine the current state of economic interdependence between the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities and make recommendations to enhance it in the future, based on two scenarios: “delayed solution”, and “immediate” solution (i.e. Cyprus settlement reached).

The Report was prepared by the Peace Economics Consortium (PEC), under the Economic Interdependence project, implemented jointly by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.

During the 28th June event, the coordinators of the research team (PEC) will present the findings and conclusions of the Report, while a panel discussion will follow, coordinated by eminent economic panelists, with the participation of the public.

The presentation will take place on Tuesday 28th June 2011 at the Chateau Status, opposite Ledra Palace Hotel, from 19:00 to 21:30, in English, and will be followed by a cocktail reception. For registration, all interested parties please contact CCCI, c/o Mrs Georgia Venizelou, tel. +357-22889840, [email protected].

The “Economic Interdependence” project, funded by UNDP-ACT, aims to promote economic interdependence between the Greek-Cypriot and the Turkish-Cypriot communities by enabling the two business communities to enhance their business and economic relations, and by demonstrating the peace dividends of reconciliation.
