Employees in fuel companies decided to give time to their companies during their general meeting, placing strikes in the sector on hold.
According to General Secretary of OMEPEGE-SEK, Pantelis Stavrou to StockWatch, the employees in oil companies decided to maintain labour peace, giving them time until February 28 to pay their salaries with the COLA and surcharges.
“Otherwise, we will go on strike from March 1”, he said.
The trade unions had suspended their meeting with the oil companies scheduled for January 31 in order to protest for the decision to freezing COLA and surcharges.
Yesterday's meeting was held to examine all the data and to decide on the measures to be followed including strikes.
Mr. Stavrou called the Federation of Employers' not to repeat what the saw happening in January.
