A CYTA expert collaborates with the Investigation Committee – under deputy Chief of the Police Force, Charalambos Koulentis – in order to investigate phone interceptions from mobile phones that belong to politicians, ministers, members of the Law Department, journalists and specific police officers from the Police Headquarters.
According to CYTA’s spokesman Paris Menelaou, the Chief of the Police Force has requested CYTA to assist the Force in this difficult investigation by introducing an expert in mobile telephony.
Specifically, it has been denounced that several police officers from the Telecommunication Section of the Police Headquarters intercept calls from mobile phones that belong to politicians, ministers, members of the Law Department, journalists and other police officers.
According to allegations, these calls revealed contacts between persons. These persons were later stalked, photographed and videotaped by policemen and the material was evaluated and filed.
