CYTA reduces broadband duties

CYTA Chairman, Stavros Kremmos announced on Friday the reduction of the broadband connection duties from April 2008. Mr. Kremmos had a meeting with the candidate for the Presidency, Ioannis Kasoulides.

Responding to questions on the internet, Mr. Kremmos said that hopefully duties will be reduced by April but he avoided entering in further details. According to Mr. Kremmos, CYTA will launch several packages, it will expand speed and will change the duties.

On the other hand, Mr. Kasoulides said that he will encourage CYTA’s goals.

Mr. Kasoulides also discussed with the Board of Directors the law that must govern CYTA in order to become more flexible and more autonomous.

“We also discussed issues concerning the spreading of the internet for a cheaper and faster internet, the expansion of the broadband coverage, the economic robustness of the Authority and we wished every success to CYTA’s activities”, Mr. Kasoulides concluded.
