President Nikos Christodoulides departs for Egypt and then Jordan for contacts regarding developments in the region, the Cyprus problem and Nicosia's initiative to create a maritime corridor for Gaza.
A Presidency press release said that the President departs for Egypt on Tuesday morning and then will travel to Jordan for meetings with the leaders of both countries.
"The President of the Republic will have a meeting with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi, at the Presidential Palace in Cairo tomorrow at 8 a.m., while at 9 a.m., the two leaders will make statements to the media," it said.
Then the President of the Republic will travel to Jordan, where he will have a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman with King Abdullah II, followed by a working lunch.
"The meetings of the President of the Republic will focus on developments in the region, efforts to implement the initiative of the Republic of Cyprus for the creation of a maritime corridor for the provision of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza, and developments in the Cyprus issue," it added.
Additionally, bilateral relations between Cyprus and the two countries will be discussed, as well as issues concerning the relations of Egypt and Jordan with the EU, the press release concluded.
