According to CYSTAT data released on Wednesday, the Cypriots’ trips abroad recorded a drop of 5.8% to 129 thousand against 136.9 thousand in August 2005.
Trips to Lebanon, Syria and Israel dropped by 3.9 thousand, 2.4 thousand and 1.4 thousand respectively, while trips to Russia fell by 5.9%.
On the other hand, trips to the United Kingdom climbed 30.8% to 16.3 thousand against 12.5 thousand in August 2005 and trips to Greece inched up 0.2%.
In January-August 2006, Cypriots’ trips abroad fell by 1.5% to 642.2 thousand against 652.1 thousand in the corresponding period of 2005.
