The increased involvement of foreign countries in this year's International Education Fair confirms the importance that Cyprus is gaining as a regional educational center, Chairman of the Authority Loizos Constantinou stated.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Constantinou said that "among the 19 countries that will be represented in the fair are Australia, Bulgaria, Britain, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece, USA, Ireland, Hungary, Italy, Canada, Czech Republic and Slovakia”.
At the same time, he welcomed the participation of Israel, Denmark and Finland for the first time.
The participation of Cyprus, as he said, “is composed of 8 Universities and 15 Schools of Tertiary Education”.
The University, the Technological and Open University and four private, the European, the University of Nicosia, Frederick, University of Neapolis and University of Central Lancashire.
“Greece participates with 10 universities and the remaining 18 countries with 163 universities and 35 colleges”.
In his own welcome speech, Minister of Education, Giorgos Demosthenou,s after making special reference to the educational reform, stressed that in the 20th International Education Fair the visitors can be informed on the two pillars of this year's fair
"The development of trends and behaviours that distinguish the democratic citizen and the promotion of actions made during the Cypriot Presidency”.
The fair opens its doors to the public from Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3.
