CTO Chairman, Fotis Fotiou flew to Moscow on Monday to participate in the MITT tourist fair to take place on March 22-25.
“Mr. Fotiou together with a CTO representation will have contacts with several tour operators in order to boost the island’s tourist arrivals”, CTO Spokesman, Antigoni Louka told StockWatch.
“The Russian market is the fourth largest tourist market in Cyprus. It is worth noting that Russians are quality tourists and their stay in Cyprus increases the tourist revenues significantly”, she added.
According to CYSTAT data, Russian tourist arrivals in February 2006 recorded an increase of 3.6%. The CTO is optimistic for the Russian tourist arrivals in the next few months.

According to Mrs. Louka, Mr. Fotiou and the CTO representatives will give a press conference today. The CTO Chairman will refer to the Strategic Plan for tourism and the issue of visas.
