The Cyprus Tourism Organization expressed its concerns for the latest developments in the tourist and hotel sector and appealed to all parties to call off the strikes until a compromising solution is found.
The CTO is highly concerned about the upcoming 48-hour strikes called by the hotel employees and the Cyprus Airways pilots, since they will hit the island’s tourism.
“Our tourism has been largely affected by external factors lately, such as the war in Lebanon and the possible pollution of certain beaches from the oil slick in Eastern Mediterranean. Now we have to face the strikes in the hotels and the air transports”, the CTO concluded.
