The CSE general index fell 0.3% to 74.8 points on Friday, while FTSE dropped 1.4% to 331.1 points due to the banking stocks. The Bank of Cyprus recorded losses of 1.4% or 2 cents to £1.38, the Popular Bank lost 1.8% or 2 cents to £1.12 and the Hellenic Bank ended 2.2% or 1 cent lower at 45 cents.
The trading volume stood at £527.3 thousand, mostly due to transactions of £315 thousand.
The Bank of Cyprus attracted 17.5% or £92.4 thousand of the turnover, the Popular Bank 4.6% or £24.4 thousand and the Hellenic Bank 0.4% or £2 thousand of the turnover.
The other daily volume leaders were Sharelink (15.5% or £81.9 thousand), Muskita (15.3% or £80.7 thousand), Constantinou Bros (10.1% or £53.2 thousand), Costas Michaelides (8.8% or £46.3 thousand), Tsokkos (3.7% or £19.3 thousand), Elma (2.8% or £14.9 thousand), PHC (2.3% or £12 thousand) and Telia (2% or £10.5 thousand).
SFS and MAI remained unchanged at 5.2 and 64 cents respectively, CBH climbed 11.7% to 6.7cents and KMC and TSH remained unchanged as well at 97 and 9 cents respectively. ERA soared 6.3% to 1.7 cents, PHC put on 4.7% to 29 cents and TLA added 1.3% to 15.2 cents.
Overall, 30 securities went up, 26 fell and 27 remained unchanged.
