The Finance Ministry is on hold in view of the Supreme Court’s decision for the earlier VAT payment by 77 companies.
The Attorney of the Republic, Yiannakis Lazarou, who represented the government at court, told StockWatch that the court heard both sides today – the government and the three companies that appealed for unequal treatment – and reserved its decision.
The court must announce its decision until November 10, at the expiry of the deadline that the companies have to submit their tax returns and the sum to the VAT Superintendent.
After the expiry of the deadline, the companies have 40 days at their disposal to submit their tax returns and the VAT.
