The final decisions on the arrival of natural gas in Cyprus will be taken next week. In his statements after the end of the Council of Ministers’ meeting, Government Spokesman, Vasilis Palmas said that the Bi-ministerial Committee on natural gas issues has already prepared its proposal, which will be examined by the Council of Ministers.
On the question whether natural gas was included in the Council of Ministers’ agenda today, Mr. Palmas was negative, stressing that the Committee’s proposal will be examined at the next meeting, when the “Council might take the final decisions”.
Responding to the question on the statements of EAC Chairman, Charilaos Stavrakis, Mr. Palmas said that all information will be examined by the Council of Ministers, which is “the competent authority to take the final decisions next week”.
Invited to comment whether the next meeting will be attended by EAC representatives, Mr. Palmas said that he is not aware of the issue, stressing however that “all meetings were attended by all parties and all had the opportunity to express their view”.
