The Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday to renew the terms of office of the Competition Protection Committee Chairman, Giorgos Christofides, which expires on December 19, 2005.
According to an official announcement, the Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of Cyprus President, Tassos Papadopoulos decided to renew the terms of office of members L. Pericleous and K. Efstathiou, which expire on December 19 as well.
“The renewal of the terms of office of the Chairman and the two members was deemed necessary taking into account the promotion of the amendment of the Law on Protection of Competition in order to incorporate Regulation 1/2003 of the EU Council and other amendments. The procedure will not be completed by 19/12/2005”, the announcement concluded.
