Cooperation to attract Chinese tourism

Cyprus in cooperation with Greece and Egypt aim at attracting the large tourist market of China, CTO Chairman, Fotis Fotiou revealed on Monday talking before the House Finance Committee during the presentation of the CTO Budget for 2004. Mr. Fotiou said that Cyprus in cooperation with Greece and Egypt are after the launch of a direct air transport link to and from China to attract the interest for the Middle East civilization.

Chairman of the House Finance Committee, Aristos Chrisostomou welcomed the idea, stressing that the economic benefits for the state will be significant and noted that Cyprus is also capable of developing sports tourism, since athletes from England, the Netherlands and Ireland will be trained here in view of the Athens Olympic Games in 2004.
