Communications Minister, Erato Markouli signed a contract for her first project as a Minister on Tuesday, which is the construction of the first phase of the refugees building at Menogia, Larnaca.
The construction of the project, which is expected to cost €9.5 million plus VAT, has been undertaken by N. Gavriel & Sons Ltd.
According to the provisions of the contract, constructions will commence in early June and will last 13 months.
The contract includes the construction of a two-storey building of 3,300 sq. meters with metallic frame and cement-board brickwork for a faster completion.
The outdoor spaces will include parking and leisure places (basketball, shelters and public walk).
The building will be able to host up to 256 persons.
At a press conference that will be held on Friday, the Minister will present the achievements of her Ministry in the past two years of Christofias’ government.
