Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Giorgos Lillikas is currently having contacts with political leaders to examine the prospects for the opening of a casino in Cyprus. The issue was discussed at the meeting between the Minister and SK EDEK Chairman, Yiannakis Omirou.
After the end of the meeting, Mr. Lillikas said that he will have similar contacts with other political leaders. “I think it is necessary to listen to the views of all political parties, as well as their concerns on the social aspects for the opening of a casino on the island and transfer them to the Council of Ministers”.
On the other hand, Mr. Omirou welcomed the Minister’s contacts and expressed the hope that “all views will be heard and all social parameters will be reviewed, before any final decision is taken”.
