A preparatory meeting was held on Monday morning at the Presidential Palace ahead of Tuesday's meeting on the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection. Monday's meeting was held under President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, in the presence of the Law Office of the Republic, the competent Ministers and state authorities and services.
Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis told CNA that the meeting was held for coordination purposes with those involved ahead of tomorrow's meeting on the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection.
Letymbiotis had announced last week that a meeting of all parties will be held on Tuesday in Cyprus on this issue.
In a written statement he said that the meeting will be attended by the Ministers of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Finance and Deputy Minister to the President on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, the Minister of Energy on behalf of the Greek Government, a representative of the European Commission, representatives of IPTO (Independent Power Transmission Operator), of company NEXANS and the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus.
