According to CYSTAT data released on Monday, the Building Material Price Index in September 2007 surged 6.3% to 140.76 points compared to 132.39 points in the corresponding month of 2006. The highest increase of 20% was registered in the price of oil products.
The price of “timber, stone and quarry material” and manufactured goods recorded an increase of 8% and 5.7% respectively, while the price of chemical products showed a lower increase of 3%. On the other hand, the price of electro-mechanical products fell 0.2%.
In January – August 2007, the Index rose 5.2%.
