The Insurance Institute organized for the second consecutive year a conference for its 1400 members, which will take place on November 15-16. Speaking to a press conference held on Wednesday, Chairman of the Institute, Manolis Ioannides said that the event aims to analyze and present the ‘ingredients’ that form each member of the insurance sector. “Our members must be in the position to meet the requirements of the new area sufficiently, safeguarding their professionalism and protecting the rights and needs of each customer”, he noted.
The conference will also focus on the future of pensions’ plans in Cyprus, the health plans and the practices of the successful organizations. “We want to strengthen the public image of the insurance sector”, he added.
According to Mr. Ioannides, the insurance sector contributes to society and economy since “its total turnover for 2005 stood at £335 million, which is 4.6% of GDP. It is expected that it will increase to 7% in 2007. The investment funding contributes to the economic growth”.
