Commercial Shipping agreement between Cyprus, Luxembourg & Belgium

The Director of the Commercial Shipping Department of Cyprus initialled a cooperation agreement late last week with Belgium and Luxembourg on shipping transport, the first to be signed with two EU country members. The official signing of the agreement will take place in May, during the visit of Belgium’s Director of Shipping Transport to Cyprus.
Through the agreement, cooperation between the Commercial Shipping Department of Cyprus and Belgium and Luxembourg respectively will be promoted for exchange of information, know-how and cooperation with respect to inspection of ships under the Cypriot flag docking at Antwerp. A joint Shipping Committee will also be formed with the aim of overseeing implementation of the agreement and other matters of common interest.
