Within the framework of the Informal Council of Ministers for Competitiveness, Commerce Minister, Antonis Paschalides referred to the importance of the technologies of information and communications for the small countries.

According to CNA, the official announcement supports during the Council which was held in Paris in mid July, the Minister talked about the importance of the technologies of information and communications, especially for the small countries.

Mr. Paschalides said that the EU must make an effort for the promotion of scientific research in the sector and must move towards the creation of the proper conditions that will secure the creation of the natural infrastructures and workshops across Europe in the long term and the availability of notable human resource.

Mr. Paschalides stressed the need to develop a research culture and to attract new researchers in the technologies of information and communications.
