By the end of this academic year 2011-2012, no student of Private Universities will pay for his/her studies more than the fees approved during the past academic year.

This decision was taken yesterday during a meeting between the Minister of Education and Culture, Giorgos Dimosthenous and the Chairmen of three Private Universities, which secured a license in 2007.

According to the official announcement, during the meeting it was also decided that in case that the Supreme Court, to which the Private Universities have appealed, takes a decision on the law that governs the increase in the tuition fees that certifies or changes the data, this will be respected by all parties involved.

“The meeting was held at the invitation of Mr. Dimosthenous, who sent a letter to the Private Universities, informing them on the Ministry’s views about the issue”, the announcement concluded.
