At a press conference held on Monday, DISY MP, Andreas Papapoliviou accused the Cyprus Airways catering for downgrading the department jeopardizing the passengers’ safety.
“Although they managed to dismiss 80 employees due to redundancy, they hired 16 foreign workers from Poland and Slovakia with the excuse that they were employed for cleaning purposes only. The truth is that they are destined to load the aircrafts with food”, he said.
Mr. Papapoliviou also noted that the Company has already given instructions for the training of those employees.
“It is worth noting that all employees were forced to submit their penal registers. I wonder how sure Cyprus Airways is for the penal register of the foreign employees?”, Mr. Papapoliviou concluded.
