A Cyprus Airways aircraft skidded after landing at Heathrow Airport today when its front wheel ended up stuck in the grass, according to French News Agency reports broadcasted by the CNA.
The incident occurred at 10.30 am (8.30 London time) and no injuries were reported. After its landing, all other flights until 5.00 pm local time were cancelled due to heavy snowfall.
According to airport operator, the Cyprus Airways flight was taxiing shortly after 8.30am when its front wheel slid on a patch of snow and ice and ended up stuck in the grass.
An airport representative said that the passengers were bussed to the terminal and there were no injuries.
However, he was not aware of further details on the number of passengers.
Later, a Cyprus Airways representative said that after the incident, the pilot immobilized the aircraft and notified the airport. All passengers were offloaded safely.
The airport remained at the Heathrow airport for a check. If there is a mechanical problem, it will be held for a repair.
